Decking the halls at the Hummingbird

There’s a special kind of magic that arrives with the first twinkle of lights at Hummingbird Estate. On our first year, we leaned fully into timeless tradition—evergreen boughs, velvet ribbons, candlelit corners—creating a holiday scene that feels both nostalgic and unabashedly grand.

A Welcome Meant to Be Remembered

Step through the front doors and you’re greeted by a stately 12-foot tree soaring beneath the entry’s high ceilings. Its branches are dressed in classic ornaments and warm white light, the kind that glows rather than glares. Walking through the doors, and suddenly the season feels close enough to touch.

From there, your eye can’t help but be drawn to the staircase—a graceful sweep of banister draped in lush garland and tied with generous red bows. The effect is simple and striking: a ribboned path that guides you up to the second floor while anchoring the entry in rich, holiday color. It’s a photograph waiting to happen.

Hearth, Heart, and Perfect Symmetry

The main fireplace, always the heart of the home, becomes a showpiece in December. This year, it’s flanked by matching trees—tall, twinkling, and finished with cream-colored bows that add an understated elegance to their evergreen fullness. The palette is refined: creams, glass, and soft metallics that shimmer in light without stealing the show. When the the room fills with laughter, the whole arrangement becomes a living tableau of winter warmth. Mantel greens spill over the matnel in layered textures—cedar, fir, and pearl garland tucked between strands of lights. The styling is intentional without feeling fussy, like a carol you’ve known forever.

No Corner Left Untouched

Part of the joy of decorating Hummingbird Estate is the way the details carry you from room to room. Nooks hold petite arrangements of holly and juniper; windowpanes are dotted with wreaths; sideboards showcase bowls of ornaments and seasonal citrus. Lanterns glow along the hallways. Even the quiet corners share the cheer—because at the holidays, ambience shouldn’t stop at the threshold of a single room.

Throughout the estate, we’ve kept to a harmonious language of texture and tone: velvet ribbons, knitted stockings, mercury glass, and soft candlelight. The result is layered and cozy—inviting you to linger over another pour, another conversation, another song.
